When to use this instruction
Use this instruction when:
• a glass of beer or wine is not filled enough
• a glass of beer or wine is overfilled
• the serving volume needs to be recalibrated
• a new glass size is being used
• the tap system needs to be reset after service or maintenance
What you need
Make sure you have the following ready:
• the correct glass for the product you want to adjust
• optionally, a measuring cup or fill line to check the volume
• access to the control box underneath the bar
• sufficient product pressure and a connected keg, wine bag or beverage line
• a working tap button on the relevant tap column
Important before you start
The serving volume is set through the control box underneath the bar. This control box has two switches:
• Switch 1 controls the operating mode
• Switch 2 selects the dose setting you want to adjust
Always return the system to the normal POS mode after calibration. If this is not done, the tap system may not work correctly through the payment system.
Step 1. Open the control box
Open the cabinet or drawer underneath the bar where the control box is installed.
Make sure you can clearly access the two switches:
• Switch 1
• Switch 2
The label next to the switches shows which position is used for each function.
Step 2. Set the system to programming mode
Set Switch 1 to the position for adjusting the serving volume.
This tells the system that you want to program the dispensing amount instead of using the normal POS or payment-controlled operation.
Step 3. Select the correct dose setting
Set Switch 2 to the dose setting you want to adjust.
The control box has multiple dose settings. Use the setting that belongs to the glass size or serving volume you want to configure.
Example:
• dose setting 1 for a standard glass
• dose setting 2 for a larger glass
• dose setting 3 for another preset serving volume
Make sure you always use the dose setting that is actually used at this location in the operation or payment system.
Step 4. Place the glass under the correct tap
Place the correct glass underneath the tap you want to adjust.
Position the glass directly under the outlet. For beer, you may need to hold the glass slightly tilted, depending on the type of tap and the desired foam result.
Step 5. Dispense the desired amount
Press the tap button of the tap you want to configure.
Let the drink flow until the desired amount is in the glass.
Stop when the glass has reached the correct fill level. The system will store this dispensed amount as the new serving volume for this tap and dose setting.
For beer, take the foam level into account. It is best to check the final volume after the foam has settled slightly.
Step 6. Check the volume
After setting the volume, dispense one test glass.
Check whether the amount is correct.
If the glass is still too full or not full enough, repeat the steps and adjust the serving volume again.
Step 7. Return the system to normal operation
Set Switch 1 back to the normal POS mode.
Then check whether Switch 2 is in the correct position for normal use at this location.
Close the cabinet or drawer underneath the bar.
Step 8. Test through the payment system
Finally, perform a test through the normal order screen or payment system.
Check the following:
• the correct tap is activated
• the correct product is dispensed
• the volume is correct
• the tap stops automatically
• the system works normally through the POS again
Common issues
The glass is still too full or not full enough
Repeat the calibration and stop dispensing earlier or later. The amount you dispense during programming is stored as the new serving volume.
The tap does not work through the payment system
Check whether Switch 1 has been returned to the normal POS mode. If the control box is still in programming mode, normal operation may not work correctly.
The volume differs per glass
Check whether the product pressure is stable and whether there is enough product available. For beer, temperature, pressure and foam formation can affect the final result.
No drink comes out of the tap
Check whether the keg, wine bag or beverage line is connected correctly. Also check whether there is enough pressure on the system.
Tip
Always use the same glass during calibration as the one used in daily operation. A different glass size can make the serving volume look incorrect, even when the technical volume is accurate.
